Before I start talking about outfit inspirations over here, allow me to confess in advance that I’m no fashion mom. As a matter of fact, my office mates tease me about my fashion sense or the lack of it. What can I say, I’m a “whatever’s on top of the drawer” kind of girl because, I’m lazy like that. The idea about denim outfit inspirations for moms came about when I attended the Style Lab with Kryz Uy at SM Seaside City a couple of weeks ago.
Kryz, one of the country’s leading fashion blogger graced SM Seaside City’s Denim Day for some denim fashion talk and expectedly, the event was attended by young folks who eagerly listened to Kyryz’ fashion advice. One of the things that struck a chord on me was when Kryz mentioned that her fashion style has evolved over the years especially now that she’s a little older so she needs to dress appropriately. Ouch. My back hurt when I heard the word OLD. LMAO
Then there was a Q&A portion where fans (mostly young folks) asked Kryz how to dress up in certain situations and I so wanted to ask her a few questions that were burning in my mind.
How does a mother, an older woman (like me) rock denim outfits? Should we still experiment on denim outfits? Or should we just leave the trendy pieces to our kids? The only denim clothing items I have are jeans and short pants. I am absolutely terrified to experiment with other denim articles because, I dunno, I don’t wanna look like I’m not dressing my age. LOL
I never got to ask my questions because I was shy but after the event, I asked my awesome mommy friends if they could share their denim OOTDs and denim outfit ideas with me. I wanted to get some ideas and (and courage!) on how I can wear them too.
And they did not disappoint!
If you’re like me who’s a little hesitant about jumping into the denim trend, below are super cute denim outfit inspirations for moms BY MOMS!
Denim Jacket over Casual Jeans and Shirt
According to Mommy Louisa, she borrowed this H&M denim jacket from her son for a comfy and casual look. I love this and I think I can totally wear something like this! Great for casual malling or to meet friends at the coffee shop!
Denim Jacket over a Little Black Dress
Twinning with her daughter Sofi, Mommy Jen wore her denim jacket over a black dress for an edgy look. I think she rocked this outfit especially with the black shoes!
Denim Maxi Skirt
Just take a look at Mommy Ness‘ weekend office getup! Love the laid-back look! I think this will also look great with a white tank top paired with strappy flat sandals. I can totally imagine myself wearing this!
Collared Denim Dress
Twinning with her little Kulit, Mommy Anna Liza is sporting a collared denim dress which I think will look great paired with flat sandals or heels. Looks so put together!
Sleeveless V-Neck Denim Dress
Here, Mommy Olive is wearing this cute sleeveless V-Neck dress with a black inner tube. The brown belt and the white tennis shoes made the outfit look more trendy. I would totally wear something like this when going out with the kids.
Tattered Denim Dress
“This tattered denim dress is a three in one combination of being sexy, cool and chic, its details make this dress looks edgy as well. You can pair it with a high heels, flats or just stick with the comfy sneakers.” – Rica
Sexy Blue Dress with Denim Belt
Nicole totally rocked this cute dress with her denim belt! It went so well with her flats and nude colored tote. I would love to wear something like this on date nights with the husband!
Okay, so I think I may just have convinced myself to try out more denim outfits aside from my usual jeans and short pants. I’m actually looking forward to updating my wardrobe!
I guess the only thing that we should stop wearing as soon as we become moms is the weight of what others might think. If you look good and feel good in it, then strut it mama!
