I think we can all agree that motherhood is one of the hardest jobs in world. Pregnancy alone can be tough on many women especially for those who are pregnant for the first time and don’t know what to expect. I can remember how hard both my pregnancies were, both physically and emotionally. I had premature contractions during both pregnancies and had to be on bed rest for months prior to giving birth. I also had to give birth to both my kids via c-section which made my journey to motherhood a little bit harder. It was all worth it though, looking at my kids right now, I can say that every penny spent on medications and check-ups, every tear I cried because of the pain, and every single thing I ever did for them, they were all worth it and I would do them all over again if needed.
Okay, that was a lie. I will not go through all the pain ever! Ha!
Pregnant for the first time and don’t know what to expect
Let’s just say that mothers these days, especially the first-time moms, are quite lucky because of the many resources and articles they can find online when it comes to pregnancy, childcare, and everything else there is to know about motherhood and believe me, there are a lot of things that you need to know! But of course, nothing beats getting professional advice from a medical expert.
Moms and moms-to-be in Cebu were lucky because LH Prime Medical Clinic held a free talk on post-childbirth care with Dr. Marini Tabon – Esguerra of Titadocmom Breastfeeding Center last May 24, 2019. Topics discussed include the following:
Newborn Care– baby care and safety in all activities where baby is involved as well as precautions recommended for first-time parents. The talk helped raise awareness and guidance for new moms and dads as they navigate through basic baby-care.
Feeding – First time moms can get confused when deciding on baby’s first nutrition and the talk provided guidance to excited parents. Also discussed during the talk were forming a bond with the baby as well as feeding guiding principles to help moms know what’s right for her and the baby.
Developmental Milestones & Red Flags – when you’re a new mom, you usually don’t know what to expect and when to expect them, the talk discussed how being familiar with developmental milestones can give guidance to parents in deciding whether to consult with a pediatric doctor or not.
Motherhood can be daunting but having a great support system from the people around you and from your doctor or physician makes all the difference. What’s important is that you never trust your pregnancy to guessing games and luck. It pays to get expert advice from your doctor because yours and your baby’s safety and health should come first.
For affordable but quality prenatal and post natal check ups where you and your baby come first, you can visit any LH Prime Medical Clinics.
