I just tried gel nail polish and nail art for the first time thanks to Ms. Jean of Fattima Jo Beauty Salon and her wonderful nail technicians. I love a good nail polish but ever since college, I preferred earth colors on my nails. Bold nails for me meant either red or black and those I already consider wild. Ha! So when my aunt (who happens to be working as a a hair stylist and colorist in the said parlor) asked me if I was willing to try gel nails and nail art, I was a bit hesitant. But because I trust her he judgement when it comes to these things (she helped me transition to white hair!), I said yes and I’m glad I did!
I have been suffering from weak nails for about a year now and regular nail polish just don’t hold on to them anymore; they easily chip and break, and I thought, since they say that gel nail polish is good for weak nails like mine, I decided that it would be worth a try and they sure are! It has been almost 2 weeks now and my gel nails still look fab. And mind you, I wash dishes, clean the house and wash dish rags several times a day and my gel nails survived.
Gel Nail Polish and Nail Art for the First Time at Fattima Jo Salon
Are they pretty or what? I let them decide on the design and I have to say, for someone who is used to plan tan or beige nail colors, it came as a shock at first! LOL But it grew on me. I never had such pretty nails in the past!
Let me show them off some more…

Gel nails with nail art cost a bit higher compared to regular nail polish but I think it is more cost effective in the long run because you get to enjoy your pretty nails longer as they do not easily chip. It also pays to go to the experts because they use a UV light equipment to dry your gel nails to ensure that they are dry and the gems adhere well. And yes, you go out of the salon with dry nails which means no accidents. Have you tried ruining your newly painted nails just because they took too long to dry? Well not with gel nail polish. You leave the salon with dry nails and ready to conquer the world!
You can choose from their wide array of colors and gems to suit any occasion or mood. You can also let them know if you have a design in mind or let the technician do her magic on you. Either way, you will get your money’s worth.
Final verdict- I love it! Will I get gel nails and nail art again in the future? Yes! I would love to have pink gemstones only on my ring finger or maybe try those sparkly gels next time. Thank you Fattima Jo Beauty Salon for the wonderful service!
